This past Thursday (July 13th) we dove at the wreck site of the Bedgellet, which was a boat which initially came to assist with the salvage efforts of the Papa Nui, another boat which was anchored here after it had caught fire in 1911. After the salvage efforts in 1980 were complete, the Bedgellet broke loose from its mooring during a storm and caused damage to other boats in the harbor. Because of this the Bedgellet was sunk as an artificial reef and now sits flat on the bottom of the ocean near long ledge at about 18m.
This was a really cool wreck site because of all the fish that had made this boat their new home. I was testing out an underwater camera which I got from a friend and took lots of pictures of the fish swimming in and around the wreck.
From the wreck we then swam to and around the near by reef where more fish and creatures were swimming among the rocks and in and out of holes.
Love it pictures are fab, looks like you’re having an amazing time x
Wow love the pictures and adventures
