On Saturday we did our second deep dive, again at the Frontier but I took the camera this time!
We began at the small reef next to the wreck where we saw many fish swimming around the coral rocks. The visibility on this dive was not the best because of the recent rain and the current which was moving the sand at the bottom of the ocean. Scott also found a sea urchin which had lost all of its spines.
After swimming around and over the reef we made our way back towards the wreck. The main fishing hauler is on its side and has begun to sink into the sand causing it to appear a bit like a sink hole, while the smaller wooden boat next to the ship has become almost completely dismantled and is now a pile of wooden planks that have begun to come apart.
Amongst this wreckage there were many fish hiding and living within the sunken boats, and even one or two eels.
This was the wreck which was sunk by the UK government because it was suspected to have contraband drugs on board. After inspection a large amount of marijuana was found under the cooker in the galley which then resulted in the Dutch captain being imprisoned on St Helena where he planned his inevitable escape back to Holland.
