On Thursday we did our weekly dive at Lemon Valley (which is also a postbox walk). Because of the recent rain and being it is now the middle of winter, the water was not very clear and also the temperature was quite chilly.
But it was still a fun dive! There were many fish and one of the largest eels I have ever seen hiding under the coral rock, where many other marine species were living. We also saw a red Atlantic reef lobster who was hiding under the rocks and crawled away when we shone a light on him.
Scott took the photos on this dive, lots of fish in crevices and also an eel hanging out in the crack of a rock. The land geography here is made of a falling cliff face a bit like steps going down to the sea floor, and there is also a garden of coral like rocks for the fish to make their homes.
The deepest part of our dive was 18 meters (~60 feet) and we were out for about 50 minutes.
After our dive we did our Thursday night ritual of getting pizza and something to drink at the mule yard, which is always nice after a slightly chilly and murky dive.
Looks like you’re having a great time x
Fab pictures, you’re not missing a great summer here ! Loads of rain in Leeds x
